NSN Atlanta in The
Community
National Sales Network –
Atlanta Chapter and Brown & Associates introduce the
Mentoring and Career Coaching (MACC) Program
Program Goals
The goal of the NSN Mentoring
and Career Coaching (MACC) Program is to provide HBCU students with the
opportunity to receive professional guidance and career direction with
respect to careers in sales, sales management, entrepreneurship and
marketing. The Program will help the protégés develop the skills they need
to be successful and to position themselves for opportunities in their
respective career paths. The relationships developed as a result of the
Program will help both mentor and protégés enhance their professional and
networking skills.
Expectations of Mentors & Protégés
It is expected that the
mentors be committed to the program as demonstrated by their time,
participation, effort and commitment to mentoring the protégés. Mentors
should be enthusiastic and willing to share their knowledge and
experiences as protégés are exploring their career choices. It is
imperative that there be mutual respect and understanding of each other’s
time and professional/school commitments and plan activities accordingly.
Mentors are encourage to make the initial contact with their protégés and
then decide from there how contact will be initiated for subsequent
meetings/contact.
Protégés are to demonstrate
their maturity and commitment to this program by setting clear goals and
expectations, bringing forward areas in which they’d like to develop and
being aware of their mentor’s professional and personal commitments.
Expectations of the Mentor
Relationship
The MACC Program is one
voluntarily entered into. There is mutual respect and communication
between all parties and the NSN mentorship committee. Establishing clear
methods of communication will encourage the relationship to flourish. If
at any time issues surface regarding lack of participation by either the
mentor or the protégé, contact the Committee immediately. Some examples
are: missing scheduled meetings, not returning call or emails, not being
prepared for the meeting or activity, not scheduling productive
activities, etc.
